My addition to tropical dials brought me to the meter first serie 1680’s because we see that in several early batches the black dials nicely faded into a tropical brown (when worn in the right condition & of course never serviced, because Rolex did change these dials in earlier days for free into a new black one). When the light hits the bezel of a Rolex, you will see that "orange peel" surface. Chemically faded bezels are the result of a physical loss of the finish as opposed to a natural breakdown of pigment. Several time commentator looking for advice from vintage Rolex owners.
